The Ins and Outs of ProPower Peel at Beauty Gallery
You’ve made the decision to invest in a chemical peel. Great! The exceptional skin resurfacing qualities of the ProPower Peel from Dermalogica, now available at the salon, make it a good choice. Not only can we target signs of ageing such as fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation but we can also target dullness and post-inflammatory redness from breakouts. For more information check out this post.
However, it’s a winding road between making the decision about getting a peel and actually having the treatment. So I’m going to go over our process here at Beauty Gallery. Please be aware this is our bespoke service and it may vary at other Dermalogica salons, but we have set this up to give you the best experience and result possible.
Step One: Consultation and Patch Test
As boring as it might sound before we can do any peel treatment we need to have you in for a confidential consultation where we assess your skin concerns and identify any possible contraindications. If you are contraindicated then we will not be able to offer you the peel treatment.
Contraindications include: being pregnant or breastfeeding, on certain acne medication, cancer and other major health issues.
The patch test is to make sure you don’t have an adverse reaction to any of the products used in the treatment and will be performed behind one of your ears. This step is mandatory.
Step Two: Skin Conditioning
For all clients we insist on having you in for a at least a ProSkin 30 facial treatment before any chemical peel treatment. This step can be combined with the consultation and patch test (see above). If you are a regular skincare client with us and have been in to see us close to your peel treatment this step can be skipped.
Why come in for a facial?
The reason is we need to see your skin up close and get hands on with it. We need to see how it tolerates general exfoliation and assess whether it needs more preparation before a peel is done. For best results skin should be at it’s healthiest before a peel, that includes being well hydrated and exfoliation tolerance established.
Step Three: ProPower Peel course
One chemical peel treatment is not going to magic those fine lines away. For optimum results we recommend AT LEAST a course of three peels (two 30 minute and one 60 minute treatment). However, depending on your skin concern you may need more than three treatments. We will work with you to determine the best course of action for you throughout the whole process.
Step Four: Home Care
You will receive a small aftercare set to use for a few days after each treatment. This is mandatory in order to support skin health and recovery. After your treatments though, in order to maintain results you will need to look at investing in a suitable home care routine to keep your skin fit and health.
How Much Does It Cost?
Based on the above scenario you are looking at a starting investment of £295, which includes one 30 minute ProSkin 30 facial, free consultation, patch testing, two 30 minute peel treatments, one 60 minute peel treatment and your complimentary aftercare kit.
Individual peel treatments are priced as follows:-
ProPower Peel 30 = £70
ProPower Peel 60 = £120
A chemical peel is not a quick and easy fix for skin issues, but it is a great investment for your skin. If you are interested in getting started call us to book your free consultation.
